National Apprenticeship Week takes place from 10th - 14th February this year and is a chance to connect, learn and dive into the world of apprenticeships so we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce Kayden Moran, a new apprentice at SJMT.
Kayden initially came to SJMT to do some work experience working alongside the Estates Team two days per week during November and December 2024. This gave him an insight into who SJMT are, what we are about and enabled Kayden to have a taster of the type of jobs the Estates Team do.
Following on from this, Kayden enrolled on the Property Maintenance Apprenticeship then officially started working with us in February 2025 as our new Property Maintenance Apprentice. He will be with SJMT for a minimum of 26 months, where he will do four days with us and one day at Solihull College Woodlands Campus. We are very excited for Kayden to be joining the team at SJMT and excited to see him progress!
As part of his role, he will work alongside the Estates team on general property and scheme jobs, collecting evidence for his end point assessment as he goes along and get to know our lovely residents.
Kayden is 18 years old, he likes football and socialising. He passed his driving test in January 2024 and has recently completed his Level 2 Plastering Course. He sees himself as kind, punctual, reliable and sometimes funny.
Kayden said:
“I have enrolled on this apprenticeship to learn new skills and am looking forward to learning on the job rather than just in the classroom.”
