Celebrating our National Lottery funding

We are thrilled to announce that we recently received the news that Shine, our service for young people, has received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund of £20,000.

The grant was given to SJMT to continue the good work the Shine service has done since it launched in 2023 and will have a huge impact on what we will be able to achieve.

Shine was created as SJMT’s service offer to young people and aims to create brighter futures for the most disadvantaged young people by providing support and education to care experienced or care leavers who want to take control of their future.

We have already helped numerous young people who have used the Shine service, such as Louii who now works as a Maintenance Apprentice at SJMT (see article here) and we hope to be able to help support many more with the help of this grant.

We want to take this opportunity to thank the National Lottery Community Fund and all the National Lottery players without whom these grants would not be possible.
